In these days of instant communication, it’s tempting to try to establish a texting relationship with a guy you like. However, it seems that not all guys are into text dating. Suppose you went out on a date with a guy, then texted him the next day to let him know you’d like to see him again. That seems like a reasonable thing to do.
But what do you do if he won’t text you back? Do you pelt him with frequent text messages, or is it better to hold off until he responds? Read on for the answer.
Don’t flood him with messages
It’s ok to send one message, but more than one will just annoy him. He will eventually text you back if he’s interested in you, and if he isn’t you’re not going to win him over by spamming him.
Sending multiple messages over the course of a few hours just makes you seem desperate, and that’s probably not the image you want to project. There could be a good reason why he’s not responding immediately.
Be patient
If you are a regular texter, it will probably be hard for you to wait for a response. However, going around with your head down and your eyes glued to your cell phone is not going to make him respond faster. You’ll need to keep busy and try not to think about him all the time.
Guys don’t tend to be as tied to their phones as girls are, so it may just be that he’s busy with something else and will respond to your message in his own time. It doesn’t necessarily mean he’s not interested – it could just mean he’s busy with something else.
Let him wait a little, too
When you finally do get a text message from him, resist the impulse to answer him right away. The last thing you want to do is give him the impression that you’ve been staring at the phone waiting for his message (even if you have). When he won’t text you back right away, you should make him wait, too. Let him cool his heels for at least an hour before you respond.
