I would really apriciate Christian advice on this!
I am 18 right now and my dad would not approve of me dating this guy (lets call him Frank). I would, under no circumstance, date him without my father's consent. We were dating secretly for a while, but I just couldn't do it because of all the conflict between my dad and Frank and lying to my parents. So if my dad never aproves, then we will never be together. That is how highly I hold his opinion. Frank and I are REALY close. We have incredible chemistry and no matter how hard we try, we just can't… stay away from each other.
The big thing is, as much I as love Frank, I want to date other people. He is the only guy who I have ever been in a relationship with and I really want to see if God has anyone else out there for me. Besides, I have a childhood friend who I will have the opportunity to date as soon as I go off to college whom I would really like to go out with.
And the relationship Frank and I have, is NOT, I'll repeat, NOT!!! about sex. He is a really big guy, like 400 lbs, no joke. I've never even kissed him before. The most we've done is a lot of cuddling on the couch… whenever my parents weren't around.
I deffinately don't want to date him now. It is completely out of the question. But, if I go off to college and never find anyone with as intense of chemistry as Frank and I have, then when I am 20 or 21, I would like to date him again.
I just want other peoples opinions, especially fellow Christians. I don't want any "follow your heart" stuff, because unless my heart is with God, it's wrong. And honestly, my heart is not always with God. Being human means I'm not perfect, and no matter how hard I try, my faith will never be as strong as it should.
I really don't think you should stay with Frank. Like you said you haven't really dated other people to see if there is someone who would be better for you. You shouldn't disobey your dad. Go to college. Date that other guy. Pray about the situation and God will guide you. Best of LUck!

As far as I know, there is nothing in the Bible that says you can only date someone within a certain age bracket close to yours.
As long as neither of you are married or engaged and you are not underage, then I don't see a problem.

Listen to your parents they are right. You are young and stupid, I am pretty sure when you grow up you will learn.
