From what i remember, the film is a period tragic romance. A man and women fall in love despite her other suitors but are unable to be together due to money/class. The lovers elope but are poor so they shelter from the winter cold in a deserted mansion and pretend to have dinner (?). The woman falls ill and the man takes her to a past suitor who he knows will be able to make care properly for her though he promises to come back for her.The women gets better and marries the man who looked after her, only to find her lover returned. She then kills her husband and the lovers run off together, he is then somehow injured. The police catch up to them after he dies in her arms.
