I just read my first Terry Pratchett book (Wee Free Men) and immensely enjoyed this authors writing style and the way he comes up with fantasy worlds that mirror our own. However, as a teenage girl I would like a little more romance in a book. (Tiffany Aching was only 9) So I was just wondering if anyone can tell me about some of his books that have a love interest of some sort???? Thanks.
Answer:
The Fifth Elephant has a bit of a romantic edge to it
Angua and Carrot based. Its a great book, but its quite far along in the night watch series.
Guards Guards is my favourite discworld book, Vimes meets his future wife in it, might be a bit of romance for you there…though as a teenager i think the Carrot Angua storylines will appeal more.
Mort is another one with a love storyline between Mort and death's daughter, death is a main character too which is always a good thing
Wyrd Sisters. Magrat falls in love in that one.
Plenty of romance stuff in them
Id suggest the Witches books since there's quite a lot in those especially with Magrat and Nanny Ogg (brilliant brilliant character). i think the first book of those is Equal Rites, then its Wyrd Sisters.
I wouldnt judge too much on the Wee Free Men, I never really got into that series as much, its one of the discworld "aimed at children" books. Sounds like youre too old for those to really appeal to you too.
Maybe read Monstrous Regiment first, its a one off book thats aimed at adults. Most of the characters are female if that suits you more, I really liked the book. Seemed more like a proper discworld novel than wee free men though it didnt require you to know anything really from the previous books.
Hope this helps!

Terry Pratchett doesn't really do romance, its just not his thing.
Wintersmith, another Tiffany book; does have a romantic interest but it is in typical Pratchett style.
