4. oxygen was discovered by Carl Wilhelm Scheele, a german-swede
(although some people credit englishman Joseph Priestley as discovering it because he managed to publish his reports and papers first, over 1 year after Scheele had discovered it, but these people are wrong)
5. it was discovered in a place called Uppsala, in sweden, not far from stockholm.
Scheele discovered oxygen by heating mercuric oxide and nitrates, burning away the mercury and nitrogen, leaving this new gas, OXYGEN.

You'll have to google a bunch of the answers.
1. Pick any element on the periodic table (you can google this if you don't already have a copy). Each element has a name like Gold, or Chlorine as well as a chemical symbol, which is a one or two letter short form (like Au, Cl or N)
2. Is it with the metals, metalloids or non metals? Which group is it in (group 1, 2, 3…)?
3. Google: Who discovered uranium, carbon, helium, or whatever element you choose.
4. Continue googling, the circumstances under which it was discovered.
5. How is it used? There are many everyday uses for the elements, for example table salt (NaCl) is sodium and chlorine. Gold can be used in jewellery, so can silver. Be creative!
Hope that helped, I did the best I could without actually doing your assignment for you.
