Has this ever happened to you? In trying to win back an ex, you’ve done nothing but run into brick walls? Everything you have attempted has backfired, and now you are in a state of frustration.
The hard thing about setting out to win back an ex is often times just one major factor-during your separation with a person you love and still really want to have in your life, that person you love is holding all the cards. This makes it doubly difficult to think clearly and take the correct actions to win back an ex.
Think about it. If your ex knows that they are holding all the cards in the relationship, they will often play that for all it’s worth-making you jump through numerous hoops to please them. Of course, pleasing them becomes a moving target that is impossible to hit!
So,to win back an ex, you need to turn the tables and gain some leverage of your own. To accomplish this, play things cool with them. Keep in the back of your mind your desire to win them back, while at the same time showing an outward appearance of being in control and content with whatever happens.
Point your mental focus toward stuff that will keep you from thinking about your ex-like taking up a hobby you like, reconnecting with family and friends, or perhaps doing something to improve yourself, like losing weight. The main idea is to get busy with tasks that will cause you not to focus so much on your ex. When your ex gets in touch with you, talk nicely, but also let them know that they aren’t the only thing going with your life.
A word of caution here. This will not be easy to do. The temptation is to continually do things for your ex in an effort to “be there for them”,thinking this will lead to reconciliation. The problem is that this tactic rarely works in trying to win back an ex. The usual result is that your ex either gets tired of you being around all the time, or starts to exploit the situation by using you. Either way, it’s a bad result for you, so avoid this pitfall!
If you stay disciplined and play things cool, you will likely see the dynamic of the relationship change rather quickly. Your ex will be the one pursuing you, and you will be the one with the leverage. This will put you in a much stronger position to win back an ex.
