Is Infatuation a Result of Karma?

Susanna Hoffs is often regarded as the main vocalist of THE BANGLES, which is an American all-female band that originated in the early 1980s.

Several artists have referenced the Bangles in their own songs. Alternative-country artist Robbie Fulks sings a wistful ode to "That Bangle Girl", a song identified as one of his "personal favorites", on his 2000 Very Best album. Although Fulks never says her name, the line "When the little one took the mike, I knew I'd fallen" suggests the particular "Bangle girl" he pines for is Susanna Hoffs, the shortest member of the group and frequent lead singer:

Whereas, the majority of American male rock fans believe that Susanna Hoffs is a beautiful lead singer only a small handful of individuals such as Robbie Fulks would actually pine for this woman. Hindus, Buddhists, and Theosophers may well suggest such an infatuation is distant memory of a previous existence (i.e. reincarnation) – in a bygone age in a distant place far, far away – where the two were once lovers in a previous life. Love or infatuation is a distant memory of some previous life in the distant past where the two were once lovers. It applies equally to Jay Roach who is Susanna's husband in the present tense. It could well be the case that their love, romance or amorous feelings towards one another is based on distant memories of a previous life where the two were once lovers. Whereas, most people find Susanna attractive only a small handful of men pine for this woman as in the case of Robbie Fulks. The person known as "Susanna Hoffs" might have existed for eons, but even so it's implausible to suggest that all men who find her attractive have also slept with the same woman. To say that one is merely attracted to Susanna is one thing, but to pine for this woman is a completely different order of psychological experience. Fact is, only a few men in history have pined for Susanna as in the case of Fulks. Susanna may have existed for eons, but surely only a small handful of men have ever been in love with this woman as in the case of Robbie Fulks.

Is the above account a correct interpretation of infatuation according to the Dharmic faiths of India, China, Korea or Japan? Also, is it a valid interpretation of infatuation according to New Age theology? Is there any Dharmic religion that recognizes this interpretation to be valid?

What does Judaism say about the doctrine of reincarnation? How does Judaism interpret the psychological experience of infatuation amongst people of different race, creed or color? Does Judaism ascribed any spiritual (metaphysical) significance to the psychological experience of love or infatuation?

I would not encourage anybody to make snide comments. I would urge all respondents to respect the First Amendment of the US Constitution, which guarantees the right of freedom of religion to all peoples, whatever their race, creed or color.

Discuss the above account of love or infatuation based on the concept of karma or reincarnation. Otherwise, give a full scientific account of the psycho-emotional state of love or infatuation. Is it possible for a scientific explanation to co-exist with a metaphysical (religious) account of one's love or infatuation? Give reasons to support your answer.
