i want it to embody the same romance, men, action, and the whole traveling to the past thing.
Suggestion:
What about Vision of Escaflowne? It has some sci-fi elements, but meets many of your requirements.
Girl from the "future" check…mostly. Romantic love triangle, check. Cool action and story, check.
A little different than exactly what your asking, but you may enjoy it anyways.
