Finding the perfect gift for the person you has stolen your heart and you have intense, passionate feelings for can sometimes be a difficult, frustrating task. You want the perfect gift to let them know your feelings are genuine and true. Love poems offer a unique opportunity to let them know exactly how you feel.
Writing love poems can be seen as a gift to those who receive them. People are intimidated by the thought of writing poetry, and a love poem is the most daunting. However, the opposite is true. Writing love poems can be really easy when your heart is in tandem with someone else’s.
The greatest tip for any writing is to just write. That goes for poetic compositions. A love poem is simply an extension of your heart. The feelings you have in your heart, when tapped into, can easily guide your writing. Make sure your heart is guiding you. People are consumed with over thinking things and get overwhelmed because things aren’t going as planned. Take your mind out of the equation and simply write until you stop. Remember, you’re not writing a book, but a prose of love.
Now that you’re done writing is what may look like just a few paragraphs. That’s ok. You’re going to change some things up now. Begin with defining an overall theme or metaphor for your feelings. Then change some of the words to align them with the theme and put more meaning behind it. While it’s a great start to write without thinking about it, it’s not a finished product. To make your love poems into final products you must make sure they touch the feelings of the person it was intended for. Try to express your love in the most creative of ways.
Remember, you’re writing a poem and not a bunch of paragraphs. If you set out to write just a letter, then keep it this way. But, if you want to really make a big impression and truly show what your love means then you’re going to want to put your words into poetic form.
After your line, there would be a line break and either a small indentation (3 to 4 characters in) or start flush with the beginning of the previous line. You can finish the sentence or thought with another line. Once you have completed 4 to 5 lines of a particular thought you would make a break. This collection of lines is called a stanza. There are no requirements for stanza length.
If you follow these simple steps then writing love poems will be a breeze for you. Now all you have to do is either rewrite it on suitable paper or print it from your computer. You might also want to think about framing the poem if you are giving it as a gift.
