What could Seinfeld’s hilarious comedy teach me or anyone else for that matter about how to get my ex back and stop my separation or divorce?
I mean, it’s a comedy show about nothing really. And that’s how they described it in one episode as well. But it was a brilliant observation about life And one episode revealed the secret that could have helped me get my ex back and could have stopped my divorce.
But I mean its a comedy show. We are supposed to laugh at life’s little ironies. And truthfully, just finding out that your lover, spouse or significant other has left you, or is divorcing or breaking up with you…well that’s no laughing matter.
And most of us will try everything to get them back. We try to lavish them with gifts to entice them back. We cry, we break down, we threaten, we guilt….
So what is the one trick that by itself could help you to get your ex back and stop your divorce or separation dead in it’s tracks. Simple.
Do the opposite.
In the Seinfeld episode called The Opposite George Costanza looks back at his life and realizes every single thing he has done has turned out terrible. As he says, he’s “bald, unemployed and lives with his parents”.
George spends some time on the beach and realizes what a tragedy his life has turned out to be. When discussing it with Jerry and Elaine, George comes to the realization that he would have been better off doing the opposite. Jerry, for his own entertainment of course encourages George to do the opposite because if everything he has done is wrong, then the opposite is right. Right?
Well George does. He decides to do the opposite of whatever his first instinct is. He decides to order a meal. But instead he aggressively and assertively changes his mind and orders whatever is the opposite of what he initially decides to eat.
He sees a beautiful woman at the counter and his first instinct is “what would she want with a guy like him” But he does the opposite, sits down tells her he is bald, unemployed and lives with his parents….and …. she immediately is taken by his honesty.
Hilarious really.
The same goes with your separation. You have to ask yourself…”Is it working for ya?” Because if what you are doing is not working then do the opposite.
In past relationships I have done the opposite. Stopped the begging, stopped telling I love her, stopped everything that was just re-enforcing the separation and making her desire to leave me even stronger and did the opposite.
So if you want other great strategies to get your ex back and stop your divorce, stop your separation or breakup, try doing the opposite and see how quickly it can work for you.
