Don’t Skimp on Your Breast Lift Surgeon

When you pay for a breast lift, it is actually a combination of three professional’s fees: the anesthesia fee, the clinic fee and the surgeon’s fee. The surgeon’s fee is the most difficult to determine without first discussing what the procedure will entail and the professional qualifications of the plastic surgeon.

If you are interested in a breast lift and its cost, always consider that it is a difficult surgical procedure, and being a cheapskate by opting for the lowest fees while ignoring the quality, background and experience of the surgeon could lead to problems. You must always insist on finding a board-certified plastic surgeon from the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Each breast surgery procedure varies depending on the patient, so it’s useless to ask, “how much will the breast lift cost?” before your surgeon has done a pre-surgery conference with you and measured your breast size and shape, and discussed your expectations and ideal results.

The typical cost of a breast lift can be from $3,500 to $6,000 depending on the surgeon and the amount of work that will be done. Fees for anesthesia can have you paying anywhere from $1,000 to $1,300. The facility fee or clinical is usually around $500 to $1,500. The remainder will be the surgeon’s fee, and that will really vary depending on what you and your surgeon agree on.

If you undergo more than one procedure at the same time, then the aggregate cost will be much higher, but still less than if the surgery is to be undergone separately. If the breast lift is conducted on smaller breasts, where fewer incisions are needed, then the surgeon’s fee may be less accordingly.

Also, if the breast lift is performed and combined with breast implants, the fees will be more expensive. Because breast lift surgery is generally performed for cosmetic reasons, it is rarely covered by insurance. When you visit your plastic surgeon for the initial consultation, ask about what payment options they offer to patients.
