A Nuts and Bolts Manual to Decorating Your Nursery

Deciding what to use for your babies’ bedding should be done with careful consideration. There is a variety of ways to combine comfort, aesthetics, and a nurturing environment for your baby. While selecting your nursery decorations, you will see a huge variety of baby furniture and crib bedding.

Parents can choose to buy their baby’s crib and linens at a discount store, or spend a lot more money at an upscale department store. Hand-me-down or gifted furniture is great, but you will have to put some effort into making sure the items meet safety regulations and haven’t been part of a recall.

You should be able to lower the sides without jolting, so make sure of that by testing the furniture before you buy. Choose a crib without a side latch as you do not want to wake up your baby after you put him to sleep. An assessment of your height would be necessary to analyse how much you might have to bend to reach for the baby.

If it is the right crib, you may only need one crib even if having more than one baby! Many multiples are comforted by continuing to have a sibling next to them, as they did for so long before they were born. Buy a second crib when your babies start to move around and interfere with one another’s sleep.

After you have bought the furniture, you would even require the baby bedding. Accidents will happen, so place a waterproof sheet over the baby mattress to minimize damage from nightly occurrences. Babies like to look at bright patterns plus picking them out can be fun. Finding a desirable pattern and color scheme should not cause you to fret. The available variety is practically endless! Materials that are naturally organic or “green” are available although they will be higher in price than the standard baby bedding set.

Protect your baby’s delicate skin by washing all linens in baby-safe detergent before putting them on the crib. Cribs should be free of extra items like pillows, blankets, or toys. It’s not safe for the baby.
