Entrepreneur Dynasty…my Dream of Owing a Business and Being a Mom at Home

Me, Myself and I

I am a woman who wears many hats; wife, mother, Certified Management Accountant, and the owner of an online kids clothing store. The motivation to start my own company came from when I returned to work after my maternity leave and failed to find the same personal satisfaction with my job that I had experienced before I had my children. I wanted to experience personal growth but still be actively involved in the lives of my children. Being a mom entrepreneur is one of the biggest and satisfying roles I have had in my life. I have the best of both worlds and I am much happier with this new balance in my life…and at the end of the day a happier better mom.

Where the Idea Came From…

Life with multiple kids at home is very busy, and when I was on maternity leave often my only relaxation time was 5 quick minutes reconnecting with everybody on the internet. The internet became my lifeline to the outside world to find the things I was looking for; it was my research tool that allowed me to better plan my day. Why did I need this research? Have you actually tried to look for something while shopping with two kids? It is stressful, it is not fun and the only way to survive and to get exactly what you are looking for is to know exactly where it is located before you step foot in the store.

When you have kids the word leisurely does not apply to shopping outside of the house. In order to keep track of my kids when I am in a store I need both of my eyes and arms so I am physically not able to do much else. Any kid can lose their ability to actually follow instructions when there is a whole new world of clothing racks to explore.

So…because of the stress factor and because I had kids that never napped at the same time, it was increasingly difficult to get out of the house some days and I found myself buying more things online. While online I could find lots of interesting and neat baby products but I had difficulty finding something I needed; new and affordable kids clothing. I came across lots of baby boutiques but the prices were too expensive for a mom on a maternity leave budget. I also found a lot of international stores (some of them the larger well known brand names) but by the time I factored in the exchange rate or the customs duty tax the clothing once again became too expensive.

The End Result…

Growing Growing Gone emerged as my mom-entrepreneur dream after I mixed all the motivation and ideas together. The store is brought to you by a mom who understands and targets parents who are looking for affordable childrens clothing for the baby, kid or teen on their shopping list.

As parents we need life to be has hassle free as possible and online shopping is one of those solutions. You can shop at your own pace; there is no embarrassment if your kids throw a temper tantrum, there is no worry that the clothing racks will become the perfect hide and go seek spot; from your own home you can relax and cross one more thing off the to do list.

It has been hard work to bring this dream to life, and in the end I hope it stands as an example to my children that you should dare to dream and pursue that dream if possible; that is the dynasty I hope to leave for them.
