Monitoring the temperature of your baby during illness is very important. Firstly it is in itself a symptom of the illness and by monitoring it your can follow it’s progress. Some devices give you feedback in terms of whether the device is in the right position and whether an accurate reading has been taken. The final reading is available virtually instantaneously.
Contrary to popular belief baby ear thermometers are not just suitable for use in babies. If you choose the correct device it can in fact also be used for the whole family. Don’t worry – it is perfectly hygienic. Some come with a disposable plastic cap (lens) which fits over the ear piece. Others can be cleaned with an alcohol wipe.
