While marriage isn’t for everyone, it IS for many people. But with so many fish in the sea, why does it sometimes seem impossible to get a good catch? The key is to take the right steps, to find a potential mate. Here are some tips to get it done:
1. Be out and about.
From parties to weddings, never turn down a social event if you have the chance to meet available singles there. Some of the best functions are ones that involve your interests, whether it’s a rock concert or a Star Trek convention. The key is to attend as many events as you can, where you can find Mr. Right or Ms. Right. Basically the more events you attend, the more people you’ll meet. And the more people you meet-well, you get the picture.
2. Try a dating service.
A lot of people have the perception that dating services are for desperate people, or simply aren’t effective. The key is to have realistic expectations when you join such services. Yes, the process is somewhat mechanical, and matching up people on paper doesn’t mean that they’ll hit it off when they start dating. On the other hand, you’ll be more likely to click with someone who has a background and interests that match up well with yours. And as with just about everything else, the Internet has made dating services faster and more effective.
3. Go where there’s a high concentration of the opposite sex.
If you’re a woman, then consider functions such as sporting events. If you’re a man, then consider events such as book clubs. Those of the opposite sex will probably notice that you’re there and be impressed, which will increase your chance to mingle with them. Even if you never considered joining a yoga class or baseball card show, have an open mind. Who knows? You might enjoy the event AND find your future husband or wife!
4. Take your dog for a walk in the park.
You might be surprised at how easily it will be to meet people of the opposite sex. This gives you a fantastic chance to strike up a conversation with different men or women that you run into. And who knows? You just might experience more than puppy love!
5. Remember that dating is a numbers game.
This isn’t to say that the process should be mechanical. In fact, it shouldn’t be. But basically, the more people you know and the more people you date, the more likely you’ll find that special someone. Dating sometimes requires some trial by error. Don’t turn down a date with someone just because he or she gives you bad vibes. But if you never want to avoid him or her forever after the first date, then you might want to scratch the person’s name off your list of marriage candidates.
If you’re ready to tie the knot, then you’ll need to play the odds. The more people of the opposite sex that you meet, the more likely you’ll be to find a potential husband or wife.

husband left the house tonight and I came home before him to find lights & tvs on in every room. How is it possible he’s a grown up?
